10th Annual Transworld Riders’ Poll Awards

The 10th Annual Transworld Riders’ Poll Awards were held last Wednesday evening at The Joint at the Hard Rock Casino & Hotel. Todd Richards hosted the event which was sponsored by GORE-TEX.

It was an interesting night with Danny Kass, Dingo, Jamie Lynn, Tara Dakides among the presenters. Danny and Dingo took a jab at the X Games Big Air voting by declaring that the Readers Choice Awards would be voted on by text message.

Raewyn Reid won the Rookie of the Year and accepted via a taped message. Lucas Debari won for the men.

Marie-France Roy scooped up two awards winning Video Part of the Year for Rome’s No Correct Way and the Readers’ Choice Award.  There was sadly no storming of the stage by the Rome crew this year.

MFR gave a shout out to Jamie Anderson during her Readers’ Choice acceptance speech, saying that Jamie deserved the award and was "killing it". You can watch a clip of her speech below.

Jamie Anderson managed to stymie another MFR sweep by winning the Women’s Rider of the Year trophy.

Travis Rice owned the evening,  winning four awards: Video Part of the Year, Reader’s Choice, Rider of the Year and Standout of the Year. In his acceptance Travis recognized some of the other riders stepping up their game. He also had to contend with a drunken attendee running around the stage. See our video clip to watch how Travis calmly removes the microphone from the interlopers grasp.

The evening was topped off with performances by Jamie Lynn’s band Kandi Coded and Tweak Bird.
