Yoga with a boardsports bias

We all know yoga is fantastic for keeping you subtle and flexible. It also helps reduce stress and improves your mood and even your memory! If you can’t get to a class then a DVD is a great way to practice some moves at home or on your travels.
Surf Into Yoga is a new yoga DVD which we think you might like. It’s the brainchild of surfer Rochelle Ballard. She works with her brother and yoga instructor Hoku Gordines and pro snowboarder and co-producer Chanelle Sladics to offer a selection of yoga sequences with levels suitable for beginners through to intermediates. It’s shot on the stunning North Shore of Oahu – really adding to the wholesome outdoor feel of the film.
"When I am riding in a barrel, time slows down, and I feel the breath of the ocean," explains Rochelle. "It is rejuvinating and full of energy. Yoga is the same; it makes my body feel refreshed and grounded. I feel my breath move through my body giving me a sense of calming balance and revitalising energy."
It features another snow-related name you might be familiar with. John Roderick from Neu Productions filmed all-girl snowboard movies Float and Uniquely and provides the editing and cinematography expertise on this production. Music comes from the likes of Jack Johnson, John Swift, Donavon Frankenreiter and Kai Walsh.

Surf Into Yoga is now being distributed across North America and in  select international countries. Look for it at your local surf shops, as well as Lululemon, spas, yoga workshops and online at
