Animal Snow Camps heading to Austria and Japan this winter

Animal’s hugely successful snowboard camps are back for a 5th season this winter. But in 2010 the crew will be taking campers to new destinations in Austria and Japan.

There are three Austrian camps running in the resort from Nassfeld in February and March. Each includes six days on snow and coaching from Animal pro riders to help you improve your all mountain skills. There’ll be coaching sessions in the park and
on the piste as well as guided freeriding sessions. You’ll be able to watch your progression using video analysis and there’ll be a session with a photographer too.

Nassfeld is a new resort to many Brits – with a good mix of visitors from all over the world. It has five cable cars, three six-seater chairlifts, four four-seater chairlifts and 18 drag lifts. There’s 110km of piste and some great off-piste in Italy.

The camps run February 27 to March 6, March 6 to March 13 and March 13 to March 20.

They cost £720 (not including flight). The price includes chalet accommodation, return airport transfers, breakfast and afternoon tea daily, dinner with drinks, lift pass, coaching, après/social programme and an Animal goody bag.

If you fancy going a little further afield, the camp will also be taking its first group of campers to Japan. This trip runs from February 9 to 20 and includes seven days on snow in Hokkaido’s top resorts and a full social and a full cultural programme including two nights in Tokyo. The resorts you’ll visit are Niseko, Moiwa, Rusuts and Kokusai.

This camp is aimed at confident intermediate to advanced riders, with the emphasis on backcountry freestyle riding and coaching.

At the beginning of the camp, all attendees will receive training and certification in the Canadian Avalanche Association certificate in avalanche awareness. This qualification is recognised worldwide and will help all campers enjoy the conditions safely during the camp and in the future.

There’ll be professional photography and video analysis to capture your sessions on the backcountry powder booters.

The camp costs £1785 (£1190 and approx £595 for flight). This includes:
