Eurostar has become an easy and more environmentally friendly way to get to the Alps (when it’s running, that is) but getting across Paris from the Gare du Nord to catch your onward train can be a bit of a faff.
I well know the pain of lugging snowboard kit on the London Underground and imagine the Paris Metro is no more fun.
A new service from Snowcarbon has launched to help you get from the Eurostar arrivals terminal to your cross-town destination with less hassle. You’ll be met from your UK train by an English-speaking driver holding a placard and after getting you to your desired destination, he or she will even help you lug all your snowboard equipment down to the platform – bliss!
The journeys cost from €20 for a single person in a shared taxi, to €50 for four people, or €89 for a group of eight. Luggage, including skis and snowboards, are carried at no extra charge.
Snowcarbon also offer information on all the rail options available for skiers and snowboarders to get to France, information on changing trains in Paris and details of packages that include rail travel.
