In case you missed my last post, I'm starting a Winter Fitness Challenge. Yup, it may still be summer but I want to be fit and ready for when the slopes open…I'm crossing my fingers for the end of October! My secret weapon for this fitness challenge is the Nike Training Club app for my iPhone.
Since I'm still training for my triathlon, right now I'm using the NTC app a couple of times a week to do Get Toned workouts to add some strength training to my routine.
My first two workouts were the Flex Machine and the Circuit Challenge. It took me a little while to figure out how to position my iPhone so that I could see and hear the workout without having to pick up my phone for every new move. However once I got that down it was a smooth process. The app announces each move with some helpful tips, and if that's not enough there's photos and even a video. You can even pick your own music to workout too…I had a gym/cardio mix all ready to go.
So far I think my favorite move is crazy ivans..partially because of the name, of course! After two workouts I'm not quite seeing any physical results just yet, but I am definitely feeling it! My arms have been pleasantly sore for the past few days. I'm glad that I went for my lighter weights to get started, otherwise I think I wouldn't be able to move my arms this week. I also earned my first two NTC rewards! As you do more workouts you earn rewards based on your training time. Right now I've got Contender and Drill Seeker, which opened up recipes for Power Smoothies.
Have you started your Winter Fitness Challenge? If not make sure you download the Nike Training Club app and let us know how you're doing. I'll be posting another update on my progress next week.
The Nike Training Club App is a full-body functional training app designed for you to make yourself whatever you want to be. Whether you’re looking to get lean, toned, or strong, NTC takes every workout to the next level. Download it here.
