Making My Nike LunarGlide+ 4 ID Shoes

Last weekend I spent a lovely day at the New York Botanical Gardens. I took tons of photos of lots of gorgeous plants, but one of my favorites are these massive planters of coleus. Coleus happen to be one of my favorite plants. I love mix of dark rich colors with a flash of chartreuse, pink or white.

I used this photo as my inspiration to design my own Nike LunarGlide+ 4 sneakers. Did you know Nike has tools to let you customize your own footwear? My old pair of running sneakers are getting worn out so it’s the perfect time for me to get a snazzy new pair of kicks.

My first step was colors for the main part of the shoe and my first choice was whether I wanted a fade or a solid color. The fade is actually pretty rad, but none of the color choices worked with my coleus inspiration. I went with Quasar Purple. The next option is for the inner color. The safe (haha) choice is reflective, which will be sure to make drivers notice you at night, but I chose Volt, a bright yellow.

The next step is to choose the dynamic flywire, which is what holds the laces. I picked Light Wild Mango. The next step is choosing the color for the all important Swoosh! It was very hard to decide between Light Wild Mango, Total Orange, and Challenge Red, but I went with orange.

The fourth step is choosing your midsole colors. How amazing is it that you can choose midsole colors? I selected Volt for the top and Total Orange for the bottom.  My LunarGlides are starting to come together! Another awesome option is that you can select a sockliner cushioning preference. I know from getting running shoes fitted before that I prefer cushioned shoes, but you also have the option for a responsive liner.

Next step is laces and I’m almost done. I went with Volt.  The last step is the tongue iD. This is what’s really going to make these babies mine! What two four letter words do I pick? I know!

POW ROOM

I selected the color for my tongue ID (Light Wild Mango) and I was done designing! Now I just needed to pick my size and add it to my cart. Nike says they’ll be at my door in 5 weeks or less. I can’t wait to try out my new bespoke footwear.
