With an outstanding performance in both formats of the O’Neill Evolution, Peetu Piiroinen (FIN) is back at the top of the Swatch TTR World Ranking list. In a tight battle between Marko Grilc (SLO) in today’s 5Star Slopestyle finals, Peetu kept his cool and collected his fifth result of the season at Davos.

Offering you the chance to ride by day and party by night to world-class DJs and bands, these festivals offer a great alternative to the traditional week-long package holiday – if you can hack the pace. Kevin Pearce remains in critical condition

According to news reports over the last couple of days, pro rider Kevin Pearce is still in a critical but stable condition in hospital following a halfpipe accident.

He was injured in the pipe in Park City, Utah, on December 31 and is now in the intensive care unit of the University of Utah Hospital.

Reports say he caught an edge during a cab double cork. He was wearing a helmet.

We have been overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and support from Kevin’s friends, family, and fans from every corner of the world," his parents said in a statement.

There are also several groups of Facebook including one with more than 17,000 members sending their well wishes to Kevin.

Roxy Chicken Jam heads for Saalbach

The Roxy Chicken Jam hits Saalbach this weekend. Top international pros such as Cheryl Maas, Kjersti Buaas Oestgaard, Janna Meyen-Weatherby, Sarka Pancochova and Lisa Filzmoser are heading to Austria to take part in the 6 star TTR contest.

Terje Haakonsen teams up with Skullcandy

Snowboarding legend Terje Haakonsen was one if the first riders to join the Skullcandy team – and now you can wrap his signature Agent headphones round your lug holes.

Terje has worked with Skullcandy’s inhouse artist Brandon Christensen to develop a visual design for the Agent which incorporates his trademarks – the sword and Viking helmet.
You can pick up a pair for £44.95 in the UK or 49.94 euros in Europe.

Countdown to the 11th Annual Burton European Open in Laax

The 11th annual Burton European Open (BEO) is kicking off in about two weeks. The BEO is the second stop of the 2009/2010 Burton Global Open Series (BGOS) and a Swatch TTR 6Star event. Top riders and amateurs from around the world are getting ready to compete in the biggest snowboarding event in Europe from January 9 to 16, 2010.

Snow and Wake Bulgaria announce ladies snowboard camp

Snow and Wake Bulgaria dropped us a line to let us know that they’re running their first ladies snowboard camp this season.

The camp will be held in Borovets from February 28 to March 7 2010 and is aimed at riders of all levels – from total beginners to experienced riders.

The camp includes coaching, seven nights full board accommodation, equipment, lift pass, apres activities and transfers to and from Sofia airport.

It’s a good deal if you’re on a budget – coming in at just £499 (not including flights).
