Ms. Superpark Underway at June Mountain
Some of the top women's riders descended upon June Mountain this week for Snowboarder Magazine's 5th Annual Ms. Superpark® sponsored by Gatorade. The event is an opportunity for women to session a park designed especially for Ms. Superpark® by June's terrain park crew.
"Ms. Superpark® enables us to create more editorial coverage of women's snowboarding than any other media outlet," said Snowboarder’s Publisher, Chris Engelsman, "while also allowing the girls to push the limits of women's snowboarding in a supportive environment."
Alexis Waite, Tara Dakides, Izzy Lalive and Hana Beaman were on hand for Day 1, which Snowboarder Senior Photographer Espen Lystad declared "the best first day of Ms. Superpark® ever. All the girls were really on it and hitting all the features, I was really impressed to see their progression."
Snowboarder Editor, Pat Bridges explained "traditionally the first day at any Superpark is a meet & great where riders get comfortable with the features and find their lines." He added that at this year's event "the warm up was abridged as each attendee was ready to give 'er at the get go. Never has a Superpark event started on such a high note."
Day 2 of Ms. Superpark® was hampered a bit by high winds, but that didn't deter these women. Kimmy Fasani wouldn't let the weather get her down as she hit the channel gap. Colleen Quigley and Gabby Viteri took control of the wrecking ball while Bryn Valaika got noticed for her stylish grabs.
