5 Things We Learned This Week
Here's our round-up of some of the snowboard and boardsports related news stories we liked on the internet this week.
1. Transworld Snowboarding have tested 153 different snowboards for their 09/10 Good Wood board test. That's a whole lotta waxing. (from Shayboarder who went along to this year's test last week)
2. The world's economic woes haven't stopped Etnies from doing their bit for those less fortunate. They've held their annual shoe giveaway in LA where they gave more than 2,000 homeless men and women a cooked meal and a new pair of shoes. (from Huck)
3. A British all-girl skate film project is underway. Filming for 'As If, And What' started mid-March (blog post from Cooler)
4. The future's still bright, if this week's annual Fluo Flash Fun at Les Diablerets in Switzerland was anything to go by. Check out the pictures and video - just don't forget your shades (on Broblog).
5. More than a dozen female ski jumpers have asked the Supreme Court of British Columbia to allow women to compete in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Currently there's only a men's ski jump contest and the International Olympic Committee says there aren't enough elite female athletes to introduce a competition for them (from the New York Times).
