Nikita opening flagship store in Reykjavik

Nikita is building its first ever flagship store - appropriately in its home city of Reykjavik, the Icelandic capital.

 

It's currently taking shape in a former four story house with a back garden in the heart of the city. The store will have two floors dedicated to retail space - including Nikita's streetwear collection, style focused Nikita Selekzion and, in winter, the full range of snow outerwear. Other selection brands and labels will also be stocked to complement the Nikita ranges.

 

The building's other floors will offer work space for Nikita's designers and accommodation for visiting Nikita friends and team riders. out in the backyard, the walls will display artwork by featured artists and there'll be a custom built mini ramp and seats. Special events and launches will be held with enough space for bands to play.

 

There'll be an open house party on August 22 during the annual Culture Night in Rekjavik and the store will open to the public shortly afterwards.

 

“It feels like we‘re closing the full circle," said Nikita head honchos Heida and Runar. "Nikita was founded 10 years ago in our own store just a few blocks away from where we are opening the first flagship store now 10 years later. We could have done it earlier, but we have just been too busy!  Everybody at Nikita is super excited about the launch, but nobody more than us.“
