NZ Rider Report: Mt Hutt Shred
Last weekend, there was no riding partly because I was a bit lazy (when riding here on the weekend, it's a 6:30 a.m. wake-up) and partly because the weather was very average. This weekend, I wasn't going to let a bit of rain and lack of visibility stop me.

Saturday's forecast and weather report was completely off. The report called for clouds, wind and the occassional snow/rain shower, but instead it was beautiful...no wind and sunny, without a cloud in sight. Although more than 50 cms of snow had fallen during the week, all the freshies had been ridden on the Friday. Still, Saturday was gorgeous.

The day was spent hitting little side hits and riding the park. After the bomb holes in the landings of the two boxes became too much of a hazard to our health, we sessioned the flat rail. It had been raised by a foot since last weekend, so it took me a while before I convinced myself that I could hit it.

After the weather on Saturday, we had such high hopes for Sunday. This time, unfortunately, the weather report was accurate. We arrived bright and early to very little visibility and lots of rain. We lodge pimped for a while...a random collection of friends and other local snowbaorders. Then as soon as the rain started to ease, we were out there.

We invented a new trick - the wheelbarrow. This involves two riders, one nosepressing down the slope and the other holding that first person's tail. We tried to involve three people in this trick, with two people nosepressing and one holding them both. But much to everyone's amusement...FAIL!

The post-riding antics were just as funny...Tom, dropping his pants to try and hitch a ride...
climbing up on high (and awkward) places for photos...

Snowboarding...day 74 this year and still so much fun!
