14 year-old Ty Walker Joins Roxy Pro Team
Roxy has promoted 14- year-old Ty Walker to their Pro team. Hot off her win in the Roxy Powder Jam, Ty has signed a new three year contract that includes boards, outerwear and eyewear.
“Ty is a rare bird--she has the confidence and wisdom of a seasoned pro, while at such a young age her love and excitement for snowboarding is still so fresh,” said Amber Stackhouse, Roxy Snow Team Manager. “It's fun to be around her and see how fired up she is about riding, learning and pushing the sport.”
"Being a pro on the Roxy team has always been one of my biggest goals. To me, they are all about style, progression, having fun while snowboarding and doing what you love. These are things I really try to demonstrate in my riding,” said Walker. “Roxy is really unique because it's an all girls company that promotes women in a male dominated sport and riding for them is a dream come true.”
Ty's accolades include wins in Slopestyle at the 2011 USASA Nationals, the 2011 Roxy Powder Jam, European Open Junior Jams in 2009, 2010, and 2011, and a 3rd place finish the Canadian Open Slopestyle.
