The view from... Zermatt

In November, it’s always hard to tell if we’re going to be blessed with a European season to die for.

But the early signs from Switzerland are good. Beyond good.

Having been holed up in Zermatt for six days now, I have been the proud witness of at least three major dumps.

It’s throwing it down right now, and I figured I’d share the view from my hotel window just to bring you a bit of snow-filled fun, wherever you are.

Hopefully, it won’t be too long before you’re playing around in the white stuff too.

Zermatt’s impressive. Never been here before and the biggest revelation to me is that the resort’s Gravity Park is open in the summer as well.
Reto Kestenholz

This week, I caught up with Swiss pro Reto Kestenholz, who – aside from being probably the nicest man in snowboarding – is the park’s head shaper in summer.

The park switches locations for the winter, further down the glacier.

I went riding with Reto on Thursday, when – thanks to him – I managed to sneak into the winter site and check out some of the features-in-the-making.

There are some wicked kickers already, but it’s a work in progress and I’m looking forward to coming back here in January, when I’ll see it in its full glory.
