etnies GvR Smacks Lake Forrest

Wrapping up the fifth year of Goofy vs. Regular (GvR) rivalry, etnies GvR returned to the etnies Skate Park of Lake Forest in California October 2-5, 2008. Top pros rolled in to break the standing tie (Goofy: 2, Regular: 2) and earn their share of a $75,000 prize purse.

Skate groms came out in droves to check out the contest, snag freebies from sponsor tents like Mountain High Resort, Jack’s Surf Shop, and FUEL TV, and catch the after party headliners, Bad Religion. The large crowd watching the rivalry play out hardly seemed to mind the intermittent rain.

After being shut down for the last two years, the Regular footers took the win in a sudden death overtime game of SKATE between Chris Cole and Andrew Langi (Regulars) and Tyler Hendley and Justin Figueroa (Goofies). For the girls, Rachel Reinhard and Julie Kindstrand took first in the Ladies Street Jam and Bowl Jam Overall Finals respectively. Check http://gvr.etniesskate.com/ for full results.
