Just when you thought the fun was over, Girls Academy at Sno!zone Milton Keynes have announced that they’re pushing on with their monthly women-only nights – and it’s thanks to the amazing support you ladies have given them over the summer.

Girls Academy – spearheaded by a team of female boarding coaches at the centre – started in the summer and was supposed to finish, well, about now.

But, with up to 40 girls travelling from far and wide to join the sessions, the team are frothing on the success and detrmination of their riders and have decided to push on into the winter months.

The Air & Style Munich 08 which was due to take place on November 29 has been cancelled.

The global credit crunch is being felt in Germany, as well as elsewhere in the world, leading to a general cash crisis and forcing one sponsor to pull out.

The Billabong Air & Style 09 will still take place on January 31 in the Bergisel Stadium/Innsbruck.

Andrew Hourmont, founder and organizer of the Air & Style said: "We are very sad about the cancellation of the Air & Style Munich 08. We feel sorry for the fans, the riders and for our whole team.

This is a few days old but I just spotted it on The Times Surf Nation blog.

Two guys have ditched the Tube (I don’t blame them) and have taken to paddling on their surfboards down the Thames to work to commute to work. The journey takes several hours – although they can save up to an hour if they time the tides right.

No information on how they keep their copies of the Metro dry in the morning though…

Check out the story on the Evening Standard website here.

The British quest to practice boardsports without their usually essential environments continues with the development of Brushboarding.
