DC has just released a new commercial for their new snowboard line. It features Iikka Backtrom and Billy Mays, who is a popular infomercial host. It’s another parody along the lines of the Inside the Actors Studio commercials they did a few years ago.
In this first Outerwear Trend Report we’ll take a look at what new brands and lines are on the scene for the 2008/2009 Season. Stay tuned as this series will continue with new installments bringing you all the trends for this season.
The North Face
The North Face certainly isn’t new to the outerwear market, but they have introduced a new line that a lot of snowboarders will be happy about. The North Face has always had very technical gear, but sometimes the styling wasn’t quite up to par. Enter their new Ride line. This line has new fits, prints, and colors that you’ll love and all those technical features you’d expect from The North Face.
Santa Cruz have launched a limited edition clothing line called Shapes. The designs feature the shapes of every single skateboard deck Santa Cruz have ever made. The whole Santa Cruz clothing and hard goods range is available at their new European online store www.santacruzeurope.com
We’re hoping that you’ll stay healthy and intact this winter but if you do end up making friends with the x-ray machine and find yourself in plaster, you’ll be glad we told you about Casttoos. They’re gorgeous covers for your plaster cast and they come in gazillions of prints and patterns.
Casttoo is the brainchild of Jessie Smith who fell off her bike and broke her wrist. She painted her dull black cast with bright, inspiring images and was amazed by the enthusiastic reaction she received from onlookers
London got its latest landmark today – the Westfield shopping centre opened, funnily enough, in West London.
Having worked in this part of London for 12 years I am seriously thankful for somewhere to go at lunchtime other than the local Superdrug and pound shops.
But if you don’t work round the corner, what would make you make the trip to London’s latest shopportunity complex? Well there’s plenty there for snowboarders and girls of a boardsports persuasion.
If the purse strings are looking a bit tight this winter, you might want to head to your local TK Maxx to search out some new snowboard gear.
They’re currently getting deliveries of current and previous season’s stock. There’s some top quality high end stuff in there – we saw some really cool core brands in the shops last winter. Look out for outerwear, layers, thermals, socks and gloves. We even spotted some boardbags in one branch last winter.
