When we managed to get several nations of powderroomies together in Whistler earlier this year we thought it might be cool to have a powderroom.net get together at a mountain at some time next season.

I'd be tempted to suggest Europe and would be interested to know how many girlies would be interested in coming along. Will be looking for cheap accom and maybe a few activities to play at.

Who might potentially be up for a fun girlie week some time? - thinking possible January or February.

i'm planning on being over this side of the world at that time...so it's not out of the question...

would have to see how funding is closer to the time though

Well, one of my friends is going home to Kitzbuleh Austria for a year while her husband is doing a subatical from Cornell next year. My master plan(we've been cooking this up for 2 years now) is to go spend time visiting her. My husband is already saying I should go and he'll take time off to keep the kids. So if I was already over there I maybe able extend my trip and try to meet up!!!!! It would all depend on timing of course.

The only wrench in the whole thing maybe if my hubby has to go do a 6 month UN peacekeeping mission around the same time. So I'm a def possibility :D

Oh fine! ... no really, FINE... I go off to t'other side of the world and THEN you decide to do a European meet.... well, I ask you!

A gal could take it personal, like. :P

Or a girl could gather the Canadian clans and get off her fat butt to organise another North America meet...

I'm up for it... :D

Feb may be better than Jan though as we sort of have a regular Jan trip scheduled (if not actually planned) already :)

Depending on which side of the world i'm on i'd be up for one or the either!

If i'm not in france next year then i'll most likely be in whistler (Masters is taking longer than it was supposed to:?). But i'd definitely be up for a trip to other parts of BC :)

Sounds great! I would love to come as well. (just can't promise anything yet as I'm not sure how my studies / work will be..and if I can afford a trip)..

I think that February might be better than January, as many places in the Alps may not have enough snow that early..or then we should pick up a place that quarantees good riding facilities from the early season already.

Are other halves allowed too?

With Rob working away in the week, I don't want to go on holiday without him* ;)

Absolutley - it's an open invite. And Guru we'll consider anywhere that's cheap. My preferences at the moment would be Morzine or Les Deux Alpes but haven't even thought about looking into it yet.

Think we are considering Morzine for this coming season, so would be great if we could all be there at the same time!! :D

that's fair enough - i'm the same - seeing as i only get to see my man for several weeks/months at a time, then the long periods apart - don't like to spend time apart unless it's necessary!

This is me...

...powderroom euro meetup - $$$
...powderroom NA meetup - $$$
...burton devcon - $$$

I better start saving up!!!

Also as I side note on a North American meetup - the people on the burton messageboard are looking to have our annual devcon either in Utah or Tahoe. If you guys wanted to piggyback on that, we could probably get our own condo with the group discount.

You should come to Morzine, that way you'll get a good park for learning stuff if the powder hasn't come yet.

I think I could organise a bit of coaching if anyones up for it, a group of uk riders are going to run a girls camp from there this coming winter so I'm sure we can get something organised for a couple of days, what ever you want really.

Tell me what you think. :)

I may also be around the Northern Hemisphere next year around that time...as we plan to come home for christmas and tack on a trip to Europe maybe to enjoy some snow. However we had spoken about North Am as a fwe mates might tag along. I am sure wherever we end up we will be able to meet some others along the way. Sounds exciting though.

If we could find somewhere with childcare, ill start saving now too.

I would love to meet all you lovely freaks...as I sure would Zac if he could speak.

Anywhere in Europe is fine, i can give my Italian passport a workout... I would love to do the alps/dolomites but they can be so expensive

Thats if you want us

with any luck i'll be rushed off my feet in my chalet, but i would love to come even if only for one day.... unless you come to serre che and i'll see you everyday! we hve child care here too!

anyway 2 alpes is up the road so a day trip is just as good

one thing

dont go in feb!!!! its just the busiest month in the world, due to french school holidays for most of the month and british half term around the 13this (cant be sure of the date now i dont live in the uk!)
Your much better off doing it in jan, even late jan, or early march, but then that takes us to the brits. Jeez i'm glad i dont have your job Lucie!

If i can get to you, even for a day. I will!

If I said Morzine second or third week of January for a week - at about £200 B&B at http://www.freshphish.co.uk including transfers from Geneva airport who might be interested?

I'll see too if we can maybe get some coaching from one of the British pro riders in return for some booze!

I'm also potentially thinking about a trip to Serre Che in Feb too. Or maybe the other way round!

   Well, you could've picked better dates! *sigh*

Does that mean you're definitely not coming on the other trip we're organising for Jan then? ;)

I've got nothing planned yet. Are you not going the third week of Jan though? That's why I've put that down as an option. However the chances of me being able to afford what you guys have planned are minimal! But if we were in the same resort that would be good :D

What happened to early January? SIA is the 4th week and I'm planning on going to that and then Tahoe for a few days.

Cool!!!!! :D I was just pondering how I was going to choose between powderroom mates and other friends   But being in the same resort would solve that problem!!!

Al hasn't fixed a date yet, he's still taking votes although 2nd week of Jan is looking to be the cheapest week.

(FYI - 3rd week of Jan is the only week in Europe's winter when no western European school is on holiday!!!)

The second week of Jan starts the 8th. Its the first full week of the year - as New Year packages seem to be running til the 2nd or 3rd so you can only get 5 day deals before that.

the 2nd week might be doable for me, but the 3rd would definitely not.

Well it turns out that roughly the same time I was looking at is when a bunch of UK girl pros are doing a camp. It's £200 to stay at the place I was looking at anyway (B7B and transfers included) - and for an extra £80 you get a week's coaching, video analysis, party night, yoga etc

I'm up for doing that if anyone else is interested please come along - these girls are great coaches.

There are a whole load of us going to Our Camp Morzine in Jan and I'm also seriously looking at Just4Girls camp at the end of April - £350 including lift pass and a week in the swanksome Rude Chalets.

I think the camp plans kinda overtook plans for a powderroom meet up!

I'm possibly still in the market for another cheap week somewhere - got five weeks of leave to use up this winter!
