Have you looked to see if there are any snowboard/ski clubs or social groups in your area? That can be a good place to meet people.

Try googling it or looking on facebook

i'm wondering the same thing at the moment. i'd love to have a group of people with whom i can snowboard...

i guess except for online discussion boards there's no other way to get to know new people than to go snowboarding and just chat up strangers that look likeable.

concerning discussion boards: many snowboard magazines have a board. you could sign up there and start a thread or see if anyone else in your area is looking for riding buddies!

Try searching on Meetup.com. You can put in an interest and where you live and it will show you meetup groups in your area.

I'm gonna be moving up to the mountains (Leadville) from Chicago to learn to ride...Looking for some female freinds who are willing to ride with a beginner? My bf is at pro level and although I'll be with him for the first few weeks, it would be nice to find some lady friends to ride with as well

If people are really interested in this, I can see about adding some sort of functionality to this site to find riding buddies.

Hey everyone. I think it'd be a really cool idea to have some way of using this site to meet up with other local riders. Sasha, I also used to board with my now exbf and other friends I have lost touch with. I live within like two-three hrs from the Pocono region and one timer I even went to  Camelback by myself bc I was motivated to ride and had no one who could come at the time =( I wont let that stop me this year.
