There seems to be a lot more product for men amd as a result, better pricing.

Is there an appreciable difference? Should women newish to snowboarding buy women specific boots? What is you are sporting large feet ?

Just wondering what the general consensus is out there...

With boots I'd say cost is secondary to comfort. Unisex boots I've hired have been too wide for my feet, but that's just my feet. Anyone should just buy for comfort and suitability. I don't see much difference in cost between unisex and female-specific boots, just less selection.

Mens boots do tend to come up wider, but I was told the main difference was that female boots are lower as our calves are lower and a mens boot can become uncomfortable as it can rub. But as most people will tell you go for which ever boot is most comfortable to you, and not someone else!

My current ones are mens as I have pretty wide feet. But now I'm on the lookout for new ones and everything I'm interested in for support purposes only starts at size 8 or 9. I know it's not only about the look but some women's boots just make me feel ill to look at!

I guess that means it's hard for men with small feet too?! :?

interestingly in Document this month they feature some Head (?) boots made for women - they look really short, so I guess it's for the calf thing?

Good tips all around. I am still wondering : is stiffness that important?
is it not better to get a stiffer boot and work into it rather than a softer boot tht you will eventually need to replace anyway/

Its the consumer in me you see...

:0)

Thanks

I think it depends what you do, in general stiff boots for carving, softer boots for the park. Maybe it's not so much boots softening thats a problem, but boots packing out so they don't quite hold your foot like they did when new - I don't know if soft boots are worse than stiffer ones for this. Just go with whatever's comfy.
