Community Guide

We've added a ton of new features for community members in the new Powderroom.net. Let's go for a little tour so you can see how everything works!

First off you must be logged in to use these features. So please either login or register using the links in the green box on the right side. If you're already logged in you'll see our user control panel. This has links to all the good stuff you'll want to see and do. Let's go through each link:

  • inbox - We've moved private messaging from our forum into the main site. If you see a number next to inbox that means you have unread messages. Clicking on inbox will take you to the private message center where you can read and send messages.
  • guestbook - Community members can leave you public messages and comments on your guestbook. You can also reply to and manage the messages on this page.
  • edit profile - You can update your profile, change your email, add a user photo and more from this page.
  • content mgr - The content mananger lets you see a list of all the content (like blogs and group posts) that you've created. It also lets you filter and sort.
  • my groups - This provides a list of all the community groups that you belong to.
  • my friends - Your friends list shows you a list of all your current friends. If you see a number next to it that means you have friends requests awaiting your approval.
  • my blog - See what you've posted to your personal Powderroom.net blog.
  • my photos - See your personal photo gallery. From here you manager your gallery which (for now) allows you to post up to 10 photos.
  • my bookmarks - All of the content on Powderroom.net has "add to bookmarks" links. So when you find something you like click it and it will come up here. You can also remove bookmars from this page.
  • my powderpicks - If you spot something you like in our shopportunties section, click the "add to powderpicks" link. This is like your personal shopping/wish/favorite gear list. You can also remove items from this page.
  • my events - Keep track of all the events you're attending from our calendar. On all events you'll see an "attend this event" link, click it and it will be added here.
  • add - Click this to go to the content creation page. In most browsers you'll also see a drop down with quick add links for blogs, group posts, and events.
