European snowboard and freeski makers Amplid have opened a North American HQ at Mt Hood, Oregon.

"With the growing interest in Amplid products and the expansion of our team, the Amplid Research  Cartel, we needed to set up a stronger foothold in the US,” said Amplid co-founder and former snowboard world champion Peter Bauer.

“This will also give us the chance to react very quickly on market demands for the  US. At the same time being also based in North America will have a huge impact on the brand building for Amplid as a global brand."

"The dynamic and creative environment here at Mt. Hood is a perfect seedbed for innovations both on the marketing side as well as on the technological one", said Brian Sites, the new head of sales and operations in Mt Hood.

Designer and Amplid co-founder Anian Thrainer is already dealing with the North American influence on ski and board design: "The US riders have a slightly different demand on skis and boards regarding flex and shape. Working with the new team riders will be an interesting job and it will encourage the development of Amplid as a well-known brand on all continents."
