Vans Dawn of the Shred Part III heading to MK and Cairngorm Mountain

The Vans Dawn of the Shred, in association with Relentless, returns for the third year in 2009. This year it’s bringing the North/South divide closer with an indoor stop at Xscape Milton Keynes on May 30 and the only open UK comp on real snow at Cairngorm Mountain,  Scotland on the April 18.

The Vans Terrain Park is taking form with the local team in Aviemore shaping kickers, rails and boxes to top last years set up and the famous  Nessie rail is back.

Before that, Vans presents a fridge shred, pulling a late nighter in Milton Keynes with a mix of snow, skate and music. The slope is open from 8pm to 12am. Each sponsor has been set the challenge to come up with an obstacle to include in the comp. Afterwards the bar will be open till late, for mix of high octane retro rock with bands to be announced soon.

The Vans UK skate team will also be in attendance, hitting the mini ramp set up directly on the slope.

Both dates of the event are open to the public. An all expenses paid stay at Ride and Slide chalet in Morzine is up for grabs alongside a £1000 prize purse with spot prizes also available for best trick and best outfit.
