Whistler holding first adaptive Snowboard World Cup

The first-ever Adaptive Snowboard World Cup is kicking off in Whistler on Friday March 14

The snowboardercross contest will feature athletes from Canada, the US, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

Snowboarders in an adaptive contest use modified equipment to help them take overcome disabilities to compete.

The World Cup is part of the second International Summit in Adaptive Snowboarding, hosted by the Canadian Adaptive Snowboard Program. Whistler’s Tyler Mosher, 35, will compete in the event.

After the World Cup, the Canadian Snowboard Federation is hosting the second annual Canadian Adaptive Snowboard Program (CASP) International Sport Building Workshop at Millennium Place on Saturday (March. 15) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The workshop will focus on the development of the sport and establish a network of expert resources.
