From February 4 to March 4 a contest to find a new catch-all word to replace “skiing and snowboarding2 ran on www.addictionary.com
The contest was sponsored by Ski Utah and Winter at Westminster and the top prize was a spring holiday to Utah.
Hundreds of submissions were received but the eventual winner was Roberta Stjernholm of Lakewood, Colorado with her submission “snowriding”.
Runners up included boardskiing, skoarding and sloping.
