Burton to design US Snowboarding team outerwear for 2010 Olympics

Burton recently announced that it will be providing the official outerwear for the US Snowboarding Team at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. In addition, Burton will be partnering with W.L. Gore & Associates, the company that provides GORE-TEX fabric, the official fabric of the 2010 U.S. Snowboarding Team’s Olympic outerwear.

“I’ve never been a fan of uniforms, but if anyone is going to outfit the US Olympic Snowboarding Team, we’re the company that should step up and do it right,” said Jake Burton.

“As with everything we design and manufacture, we have already brought together our creative people with some of our country’s best snowboarders to ensure that the final product will represent the riders, the sport, and the U.S.A. in an authentic way. Our partnership with GORE-TEX enables the riders to rest assured that regardless of the weather in Vancouver, they will be warm, dry, and free to do their best.”

As soon as the Team is announced, the designs will be revealed. So, be sure to check powderroom.net for the announcement.
