Lesley McKenna and Cardrona holding high level freestyle snowboard camp

Lesley McKenna and Cardrona Mountain are holding the first ever OnTransition snowboard freestyle camp at Cardrona in 2009. The camp is aimed at riders already competing at national and international level. 

 

The camp will be based in Wanaka on the South Island of New Zealand and the riders will ride the Cardrona World Cup half pipe and slopestyle park. Head coach, two time  Olympian and Roxy team rider/coach Lesley McKenna will be joined by other highly qualified and experienced coaches to provide top level coaching and advice to the riders  across all the freestyle disciplines. The camp is open to all riders, male and female, who  are already competing at a regional, national or international level and riders will have the opportunity to compete in the Burton New Zealand Open, a 5 star TTR event. 

 

The camp dates will be July 27 to August 15. 

 

Three blocks of five days on snow coaching in the park and pipe. 

Snowboard specific dryland training four times a week. 

Yoga sessions four times a week. 

Mental and psychological competition training. 

Goal setting and time management advice and training. 

Equipment tuning and maintenance training and advice. 

Cardrona season pass is included in the camp price (if people want to stay and ride on their own after the camp they can continue to use the season pass) 

 

The NZ Burton Open will take place the first week of August and campers will be able to participate. 

 

Accommodation in Wanaka will be included in the camp price and will be of a high standard. 

Transport to and from the mountain each day and to and from  the airport will be included. 

In order to book accommodation and get the lift pass deal the organisers must know by April 31 if you are interested in attending the camp. 

They will then need half of the payment by the  middle to the end of May. 

 

The price for the camp will be 6000 New Zealand Dollars, (approx 2400 euros, £2100) not including flights.
