Burton Sapphire 08/09 rewiew
So, I've won Burton Sapphire 08/09 boots on My Blue Christmas contest by Blue Tomato (www.bluetomato.com) and they came on the day it's started raining on our 40cm of snow :( . Anyways +1 C and rain didn't really scare me and I went for a test in our self made park.
First thing that I've noticed was that control of the board is much easier with them than with my old boots (this may be for them being perfect size for my foot, but I've used others which were my size and it didn't feel like this), I've always thought, that the reason that I had to put more power into controling it was that my board was too long, but it seem that it was my boots.
Second thing- weight. They feel very light, actually, I didn't really feel boots, it seems like my board is a continuation of my feet without anything inbetween when actually the sole of the boot is quite thick.
Another thing that I like is liner. It has these kindda stickers with which you can regulate how tight your liner should be around your calf. Plus it's furry at the top so I can wear them without long socks. It has wired therm-ic system too (which is not that important to me as I don't have the device to attach it to. lol and it cast some 100 dollars or so without delivery from US). It's really easy to put your feet in and out of the boot and I like that the liners are quite high. Another thing I like is that they have this anti-bad-smell thing and it works.
The double lacing system is good as well lets me decide which part I want looser and which tighter.
After some 4 hours of jibbing in watery snow my feet was kept warm and dry, which I didn't feel for a long time, with my old ones constantly having me cold and wet either from sweat or water or both. I don't need to wear double socking anymore :).
They've changed my style too, at least my bf told me so as I'm never satisfied with my style anyways. Said that I look more in control and more stylish. How won't I . They look great just standing alone in the corner of my room, of course they look great in action. Plus they make me bend my knees more, that helps too.
So, after wet snow jib test I give them a big YES. Pity, I can't put them in a real park conditions as I've planned at the beggining of the week as it's been raining, raining...everyday. And the weather is still against me.

getting the right boots really changes your riding even if your board is not brilliant. I was so happy last spring when I got new boots that are in the right size and flex. I have burton emeralds, used to have forum recon boots which were 2 sizes to big and felt increadibly soft bending so I felt ot of control when riding. Happy shredding with your new boots
