How's your season being going so far?
I had a bad start. On my first run of the season, I fell on a fun box
and separated my shoulder so I couldn't ride for another month. I was
pretty bummed! But after that, it started being good again - lots of fun
with different people.
Where are you based this season?
Same as always: Whistler, Canada.
How does it feel to be nominated for Rookie of the Year in Transworld?
Honored, excited - I never imagined this would happen to me.
When and how did you start snowboarding?
I started about 9 years ago when I use to live in Quebec. Every day after
school my parents or some parents would drive me and my friends to the
hill (if you could call it a hill). It was this tiny, icy hill called
"Edelweiss" and it was fun as hell!!
When did you realise that you could make snowboarding your career?
Last year. Before that I was just having fun snowboarding and thinking
how cool it would be to be a pro snowboarder, but never thought I could
be good enough one day to make money out of it.
Do you have any goals of things you'd like to achieve - for example
- a win at a particular competition, a magazine cover or a cool video
part?
I'd like to win a Triple Crown just because I never have. I want to get
more photos in magazines since they are good souvenirs ... so are video
parts. I would also be really stoked one day to be nominated Rider of
the Year.
Who do you think are the most impressive up and coming riders?
Graydon Kavanagh.
Do you think female pro riders get enough recognition?
Yes, but I personally think there are only a few female pro riders who
really step it up and they get the recognition they deserve. We have to
admit that girls have no show compared to the guys, though (not yet anyway).
Please rank in order -- starting with the one you like most: powder,
pipe, rails, kickers, cliffs, doing interviews:
#1 Rails
#2 Powder
#3 Cliffs
#4 Kickers
#5 Doing interviews
#6 Pipe
What's been the highlight of your career so far?
Superpark last year - that's pretty much where it all started. I stepped
it up a little bit and got an IPO in Snowboarder Magazine.
Where's your favourite place to ride?
Whistler/Blackcomb
What's the best bit of snowboarding advice you've been given?
Relax, it's only snowboarding!
Tell us some gossip (or an interesting fact!) about another female
pro rider.
Annie Boulanger never cries.
