How has your season been going so far?
It has been a strange season but fun none the less. Most years I would have had lots of powder days to think about by now, but this year I seem to have more handrails and park jib days under my belt than ever before. It's OK though, different conditions lead you to learning different things. Learning new things keeps me stoked.

We read on the Option site that you've bought your own home. Where are you based and are you spending as much time stripping your walls as your snowboards?
I live in Squamish, BC. A beautiful little town just south of Whistler. The renos have to wait until winter is over but I definitely have some plans to make some changes in the spring and summer.

You've spent quite a bit of time in Chile - what do you like about the
country?

It's a beautiful country with lots of rich history. The whole country is basically a strip of coastline, fertile valleys and then the mountains, so it's about a 2-3 hour drive from snowcovered mountains to the beach, yee ha!

What's the snowboarding like there?
Depends where you go and when you go. You can ride knarly peaks or sweet windlips and rollers. Also the weather is very unpredictable but when it's good it can snow a meter or two in one night.

Who do you usually ride with?
Whoever is down with the plan for the day. I ride with Victoria, Megan Pishke, Prisilla Levac, Pilar Peterson and my boyfriend or any guys that
happen to win the lottery that day, hee hee!

Where's your favourite place to ride?

That's a hard one , I don't think I can pick a favorite. Anywhere with deep pow, good friends and good vibes.

Is there any where you haven't ridden that you'd still like to go?
Tons of places, I would love to go to Alaska, Europe, Japan, New Zealand. Plus there are all those remote crazy places like Russia, Northern China etc. I love to travel so I'd be pretty stoked to go anywhere.

What are the best and worst things about being a professional snowboarder?

The best things are that it always drives you to progress and you hopefully get to travel to a lot of amazing places. The hardest things
are when you feel too much pressure to perform on days that you just aren't feeling it and you'd rather be on the couch.

Does it bother you that the guys still get more press coverage and more prize money in some of the competitions?

No this doesn't really bother me much because I agree that the guys are killing it and they have a lot heavier competition. What does bother me is that some guys act like the girls are in competition with them and they blow you off like you shouldn't even be wasting your time trying to snowboard. Instead of appreciating that women are different and it takes a lot for those girls who are out there pushing it to get up the nerve to go for it. They are pushing themselves just as much as the guys are, it's just at a different level. (of course this doesn't apply to all guys but they know who they are).

Do you think there are any differences in the way girls and guys ride?
Yes, girls don't have the same muscle mass and weight as guys so ours bodies probably won't be able to take the impact of a 100 ft gap or something but when we're on, I think we can have more finesse and cool style. Plus with the guys it takes so much for anyone to be impressed, they have to go huge and knarly and a lot of people are getting hurt. The women's level is cool because it's not so much about how big you can go, but more about being styley and dialing new tricks.

What kind of fitness program do you have to prepare for the snow?

I usually work out in the gym in the fall, core strength and legs, also I started doing martial arts, climbing and skateboarding. (I find the gym
kinda boring).

Who inspires you?
Victoria Jealouse, Tara Dakides, Matt Hammer, Shaun White and anyone who can sing really well.

Who are the most impressive up and coming riders at the moment?
Mikey Renz, Tora Bright and I'm sure lots of kids that I haven't been lucky enough to see ride yet.

Is there anything you'd like to achieve this season? A new trick/ contest/place to visit?
Mostly a video part is my ultimate dream right now. Placing well in a contest would be cool but I don't really judge myself on that too much,
competition is not my forte.
