Anne-Flore Marxer has made a name for herself in the freeride world in just one short season. Known more for her freestyle skills, AFM entered and won her first Freeride World Tour event at Chamonix as a wildcard entry. Marxer’s win got her an invite on the Tour and she went on to place third or better in all four events she entered. Those top finishes earned her the title of 2011 Freeride World Champion in her rookie season.
“This title makes all my efforts this season worth it,” said Marxer. “The Freeride World Tour has been a great experience. I can’t wait to come back next year!”
Anne-Flore Marxer just dropped us her thoughts on her win at the Nissan Freeride Tour. You can see her winning run on our main story.
Anne-Flore Marxer sure knows how to make an entrance. There's nothing like grabbing the first place trophy in your debut event to turn some heads and that's just what AFM did at the Nissan Freeride World Tour in Chamonix/Mont-Blanc.
AFM's win didn't come easy.
“The last three days have been very stressful and I’ve been really tense. But when I got to the top of the course I I realized that is what I usually do! I regained my confidence and rode without hesitation. I’m especially glad that tomorrow is my birthday – I’ll have two reasons to celebrate tonight!”
