Nike Snowboarding Launch Party

Posted by & filed under party lowdown.

Those crazy marketeers down at Nike are keen to shock us snowboarders right out of our boots – literally. Although the majority of us would care not to think about blood-splattered snowboarding gear, the popular sporting accessories company seems to think differently. Luckily for me, their ad campaign doesn’t conjure any memories of gnarly accidents on the hill, but if it does for you, I imagine you wouldn’t’ be the biggest fan of Danny Kass’ work – and people like me for going along with it – boy was the launch party fun!

Nike Shoe Shine & Diplo at SIA

Posted by & filed under party lowdown.

At SIA, the big North American snowsports trade show, there is always a party that everyone is talking about. This year it was Nike’s Shoe Shine party, which combined art and music and, of course, drinking. Nike gave artists white Nike ZF-1 boots to use as a canvas and the results were on display at Summit Music Hall. You can see photos of the boots below.

Artist and musician Matt Donahue got the party started. Around midnight Diplo got started spinning with some Neil Diamond and the party got wilder with beer and champagne flying through the air.

Thanks to Nike for a fun night!
