One Week Until Rip Curl Sista Sessions

The 2011 Rip Curl Sista Sessions will be getting under way in Mayrhofen, Austria in just a week! The 3Star TTR event will include a rail jam and slopestyle competition with a 3000 Euro prize purse and 400 TTR points up for grabs. In addition the best non-sponsored rider will win a 1 year sponsorship from Rip Curl. The "best trick" will win a one week surfing camp with Surf Affinity.

The Sista Sessions are back and bigger than ever. With Rip Curl as their title sponsor, the Rip Curl Sista Sessions will take place from January 19th-23rd, 2011 at Mayrhofen, Austria. Sista Sessions will be much more than a competition, with 4 days of "sessions" including lessons, workshops, jam sessions, photoshoots, and parties. Of course there will be a 3Star Swatch TTR Slopestyle competition too.

2009 Oakley Jib Vid teams announced

Details of the 18 teams taking part in the Oakley Jib Vid contest later this month have been announced. There were supposed to just be 15 teams but so many teams entered that there are now 18.

From March 25 to 27 the teams will gather in Mayrhofen in Austria with just 28 hours to make a two-minute short film to showcase amazing riding, arty shots and an interesting storyline. The prize purse is a tasty 10,000 euros.

A three-part documentary about the Jib Vid was made last year and the first part of this is now available on Mpora. You can watch it below:

Watch Billabong Air & Style live here on Saturday

Mpora are streaming the Billabong Are & Style live from Innsbruck, Austria on Saturday. You can watch the action below from 16:00 to 21:00 GMT and 17:00 – 22:00 CET.

Air & Style is one of the most iconic snowboard events around today. As part of the TTR World Tour, the competition will take place in front of 13,000 spectators for an evening of amazing riding, music and a huge quarterpipe.

Revellers will see the likes of Terje Haakonsen, Antti Autti, Peetu Piiroinen and last year’s champ Kevin Pearce trying to bag some of the valuable TTR points on offer. Throughout the contest, riders will also be measured for the biggest air and the chance to break Terje Haakonsen’s world record of 9.8 metres.

Roxy Chicken Jam cancelled

The European Roxy Chicken Jam has been cancelled. The qualifications were held on Friday but the finals had been postponed after bad weather on Saturday.
