The Oregonian talks to Portland-based snowboard companies.

Shred-a-Porter shows you softgoods that let you bring a high fashion look to the slopes. The first trend covered for 2009-2010 is OMBRE.

The ombre trend made its debut for Fall 2007 and its still. Designers like Prada, Herve Leger and Alberta Ferretti have all used ombre in their lines.

This trend, which involves colors that gradually fade into one another, has finally hit the snowboard industry. Here's a glance at few companies making use of this trend.

Betty Rides is having a sample sale this Friday and Saturday in Portland. It's been dumping on Hood so it's probably a good time to go pick up some new shred threads.

Details are in the flyer below.

If you're heading to Windells Snowboard Camo at Mt Hood this summer, look out for the Betty Rides crew. They're returning to the summer camp for their fourth year with a private signature cabin and design-a-shirt sponsor nights with tons of free swag.  This summer, Windells have also renovated their private on-hill park as the first camp to add two tow ropes – so no more hiking!

Is outerwear shopping as scary as bathing suit shopping? I hope not! So why are we sometimes a size small in one brand and a size large in another?
