PRESS RELEASE

Hello from Breckenridge, Colorado where I’ve been attending a two-day women’s Pipe and Park camp run by the resort’s Ski and Ride School.

More than 20 girls took part in the camp which hit the jumps, rails, boxes and pipe in the resort’s two fantastic beginner terrain parks.

A set of pictures featuring a skier danging from a chairlift in Colorado has been appearing in newspapers around the world today.

They appeared on The Smoking Gun website yesterday and have spread like wildfire.

The accident is reported to have happened on New Year's day when the skier and a child boarded the Blue Sky Basin chair. The man somehow slipped and only a single ski boot and binding prevented him from falling from the lift. He dangled for 15 minutes before being rescued by staff.

No reports yet on who the skier was and what he had to say about his mishap.

Going snowboarding all year round is easy enough when you live in Europe near a dry slope or indoor snow dome. But it’s also doable on the real stuff – and Colorado-based blogger Shayboarder has just completed a year of hitting the white stuff every month. She gave powderroom.net her take on the last 12 months:

“To snowboard 12 months a year is the endless winter where you never put on the storage wax, where your bindings remained mounted to your board and where you are waiting for the next day to find more snow to ride.
