Desiree Melancon Joins Bonfire Team

Bonfire has welcomed Desiree Melancon to their team. Also on the Salomon team, Desiree is currently filming with the Peep Show crew. On being on Bonfire, Desiree said, "The team is sick. Some of my favorite snowboarders are on Bonfire so it makes me feel good to be a part of it. It’s also cool to work with the designers Shawn and Kate on stuff that I’m really siked [sic] on.

Colleen Quigley presents the Ladies Room camp at Waterville Valley

Some impressive female riders are lined up to coach at a two-day snowboard camp taking place at Waterville Valley, NH.

The Ladies Room camp is being organised by Colleen Quigley on January 10 and 11. She’s roped in Hana Beaman, Jacqui Berg, Desiree Melancon, Iris Lazz and a special guest to coach the event.  It’s for girls aged 8 and up of all levels and abilities- although the focus will be on park riding.

The camp costs $235 and includes all day coaching, breakfast. Lunch, prize packs and giveaways from sponsors including Burton Snowboards, Eastern Boarder, Nikita, Snowboarder Mag, Oakley, Dakine, Red Bull, Air Blaster, A.S.S Industries and Zinka.

Summer update from the MGT Snowboard Camp crew

Robin from the MGT all-girl snowboard camp crew just dropped us a line to tell us what they’ve been up to this summer. Here’s how their summer season shaped up…

MGT has wrapped up another banger summer session season in 2008. Two summer sessions went down this past August with summer slush in Mt Hood and a cold rush in South America.

High Cascade Snowboard Camp hosted MGT in session six with coach and phenom Leanne Pelosi leading the pack. Other coaches Raewyn Reid and Desiree Melancon showed the MGT campers all kinds of new ninja rail moves and girls were amped to shred the slush in the sun.
