Marie-France Roy

We recently told you about Marie-France Roy breaking her C2 vertabrae while filming in the Whistler backcountry. Now we finally have some updates thanks to an interview the Rome team manager did with MFR.

MFR describes how she got injured:

We just saw a tweet from Marie-France Roy stating that she broke her neck but that she'll be ok.  From what we've been able to discover, MFR was injured while riding in the Whistler backcountry and broke her C2 vertebrae. We'll update when we find out more.

Powderroom.net wishes Marie-France a full and speedy recovery!

Marie-France Roy will be the latest target of the Rome SDS Ask the Rider Twitter Interview on Friday, October 16.  You'll get a chance to ask MFR whatever you want for 2 hours.  Rome will be giving away a pair of Strut or United bindings to one lucky tweeter.

You can ask whatever you want.  Here are some sample questions from Rome to get you started... How was filming the Team Shoot Out? How was filming with Absinthe this past season? Any good stories from your recent trip to Japan? Would you consider dating a guy that isn’t as good as you at snowboarding (also known as 99.99% of the male snowboarding population)?

Rome has just released a Top 5 with their pro rider Marie-France Roy. Check it out.

30cm – 40cm fell each night during this past weekend at Grouse Mountain in North Vancouver. Vancouver’s metamorphosis into a snow-cave resulted in a pillow party for what is usually strictly a terrain park camp.

MGT Snowboard Camp coaches Marie-France Roy, Leanne Pelosi, Raewyn Reid, Robin Van Gyn and Joanna Majcherkiewicz had campers throwing themselves off any feature producing some heavy bails and first time pillow and cliff experiences.

Oakley have been filming with their team of female snowboarders, skaters and surfers and will be presenting the results in the movie Uniquely later in the year.
