The Oregonian talks to Portland-based snowboard companies.

Betty Rides is having a sample sale this Friday and Saturday in Portland. It's been dumping on Hood so it's probably a good time to go pick up some new shred threads.

US Outdoor and Scion are hosting the Second Annual Backyard Bang in Portland's Pearl District on November 22 from noon to 4pm. The event is also sponsored by Salomon Snowboards, Art Institute of Portland, Skullcandy, Bonfire, Windell’s and Paul Mitchell.

The setup is courtesy of Snowboy Productions and will be in front of the Art Institute of Portland which is on Northwest Davis between 11th and 12th. The event is free and is happening rain or shine. They'll be giving away free lift tickets and gear from Bonfire, Salomon, and Skull Candy.

The Outdoor Industry Women's Coaltion has launched an online guide to industry for women and are hosting two events. Here are the details:
