The first snowstorm has hit the Northeast. Forecasters had predicted that over seven inches of snow could fall in elevations above 2000 feet by Saturday afternoon. We've heard that the snow is knee deep at the top of Stratton Mountain.

Photos from other resorts, including Killington, show this storm left the mountain looking like a winter wonderland.

We can't wait!

Finnish upstart Enni Rukajärvi claimed the slopestyle title and $20,000 at the 29th Burton US Open last weekend in Vermont.

For most of the season Jamie Anderson has seemed unstoppable, and she was able to claim the Overall TTR title just by qualifying for the slopestyle finals. However she was unable to claim yet another title this season, thanks to the efforts of Enni Rukajärvi in the rainy conditions. Jamie pulled out the stops with a big switch backside 540 indy, but Rukajarvi was able to top Anderson by two points with a run including frontside 360 indy grab, a backside 540 indy grab and a Cab 540 mute grab. Young Norwegian rider Silje Norendal took third place.

Stowe Mountain Resort, in Vermont, is officialy for sale. The mountain, which is owned by the troubled insurance company AIG, is expected to fetch at least $85 million dollars.
